Oriel Davies Gallery is a key public art gallery of Wales, based in Newtown, rural Powys presenting world-class, thought-provoking and challenging art by national and international artists in an environment that is welcoming, engaging, informative and free.
The Gallery and exhibition spaces are family-friendly, physically accessible and ideal for experiencing contemporary art.

How to Get There
On foot
From Newtown train station which is about a 7 minute walk, take the footpath opposite the station exit the the left of the Pryce Jones Building and car park, down to the main road (New Road). Cross straight over at the lights and continue up New Church Street. Cross at the pedestrian crossing into the park. The Gallery is beside the park, on the right hand side. From the town centre, walk to the end of High Street or through the Bear Lanes shopping centre towards the Bus Station. Oriel Davies Gallery is located between the Bus and Coach Station and the park.
By bus and coach
Oriel Davies Gallery is located immediately adjacent to the Newtown bus and coach station and is well served by local and national bus routes to many towns including Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Llandrindod Wells, Kington, Montgomery and Llandovery, as well as National Express coach services to further destinations such as London, Birmingham and Aberystwyth.
By bike
Oriel Davies Gallery is located on the Sustrans National Cycle Network Route 81. There’s a bike shelter located outside the gallery.
By car
Keep on the A483 (New Road) into Newtown, and turn into New Church Street, besides a large Church building. After 600m, turn left into Newtown’s Back Lane car park which is pay-and-display. Oriel Davies Gallery is located just 50 metres from the car park on the edge of the town park. There are two blue badge holder spaces at the side of the gallery. Electric Charging points are available in Back Lane Car Park.

The nearest train station is Newtown (Powys) operated by Transport for Wales and is a 7 minute walk (0.5 miles) to Oriel Davies Gallery.
