The AM10 exhibition at National Museum Cardiff comprises of significant solo presentations of new and existing work by Rushdi Anwar, Mounira Al Solh and Alia Farid. To mark the 20th anniversary of Artes Mundi, there is an additional work on display, by Berni Searle who exhibited as part of AM1 in 2002.
Across Wales, individual presentations by each artist will collectively examine ideas concerning connections to land, contested territories and histories, the questioning of nationhood and its environmental impact, and of how these ideas challenge preconceived notions of identity and belonging.

Mappa Mundi creative workshop, with Celf ar y Cyd
Take a moment to think about the world you live in, or the world you want to live in. How do you see the world? What matters most to you? Next, think about a map of the world. What would it contain? Would it have the same continents as existing ones, or would it perhaps have just one big continent? Would there be any continents at all, or just vast ocean? Take part in this creative workshop, led by the Celf ar y Cyd team and inspired by Paul Davies’ Mappa Mundi. Choose materials to create your ideal map of our world. Celf ar y Cyd Photographer Rhian will be documenting all maps made during the event, which will then feature on the Celf ar y Cyd website.
What is Celf ar y Cyd?

The National Contemporary Art Gallery for Wales is an exciting new initiative that aims to share the collection across the country. Come and meet the team and learn about the project. Explore the brand new website, learn and be inspired by the national collection.
