Biography:
Dr Mena Fombo (hon) is a founder, a film director and a facilitator.
Mena is passionate about creating greater human connections and supporting individuals and teams to flourish in purpose driven spaces.
She is the founder and managing director of Black Girl Convention – a creative studio centering retreat experiences and co founder of Blak Wave Productions – one of the only black owned tv & film production companies in the South West. Mena is also an executive coach, leadership facilitator, experienced mentor, retreat specialist and equity, diversity and inclusion consultant delivering to clients globally, trusted by Microsoft, Netflix, NFL, Bitly, Aardman and the BBC.
Mena is an International ambassador for the City of Bristol building global business networks, holds an honorary doctorate for work in Equalities from the University of the West of England, is a voting member of BAFTA (British Academy Film and Television Awards) and she is behind the powerful TEDx Talk No. You Cannot Touch My Hair which attracted contributions to the research study from around the world and watched by one million viewers.
Underpinning all of Mena’s work is her commitment promoting and campaigning for equity, representation and Inclusion.
