Kurdish All Wales Association
September 2023 – June 2024
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund
As part of the public programme for AM10, we worked in partnership with venues to develop a series of projects with communities. These were realised in response to the themes and ideas present in the practice and works on display from each of the seven artists. The projects took multiple forms while communities also contributed to our podcast series and the production of interpretative labels shown in the galleries.

The Kurdish All Wales Association worked in response to Rushdi Anwar’s work with artist Sarah Grove-White on a programme of children’s Saturday classes that formed part of their Saturday school, held at St Peter’s RC Primary School. They also took part at the National Museum Cardiff in a tour of AM10 attended by over 40 people. Workshops focused on KAWA extended into June 2024 as they presented the work made as a public event as part of Refugee Week. Additionally, the project involved 42 participants in activities including six workshops, two interviews for inclusion in podcasts, a text produced as a ‘para-label’, and one public tour.
