AM9 Online Interpretation Space

The interpretative resources presented here are intended to create another opportunity to engage with, and give context to, the themes and ideas present in the work on display in Artes Mundi 9 across all exhibition venues at the National Museum Cardiff, Chapter and g39. They replicate the physical interpretation space at National Museum Cardiff situated between the exhibitions of work by Carrie Mae Weems and Firelei Báez.

Differing elements – the collection of objects, images and texts – are woven together to make connections to broader histories, and meaning, and to examine the facets that highlight current global issues impacting us all locally today.

It is intended for this information to generate multi-textured conversations and debate informing our growing understanding of a shared human condition present in familiar and distant histories and cultures.
