As part of the public programme for AM10, we worked in partnership with venues to develop a series of projects with communities. These were realised in response to the themes and ideas present in the practice and works on display from each of the seven artists. The projects took multiple forms while communities also contributed to our podcast series and the production of interpretative labels shown in the galleries.

Welsh Ballroom Community worked in response to Naomi Rincon Gallardo’s work with Chapter through a series of extended four by four hours workshops, including a DJ workshop, a workshop on Body Confidence, the body and movement workshop, a Queer Fungi Talk, and a Collaging and Zine Making Workshop. The project was led by Raven Spiteri, who is continuing to produce a photo-essay publication from the four workshops. Additionally, to the magazine, the project involved 12 participants in activities including four workshops, four interviews for inclusion in podcasts, a text produced as a ‘para-label’, and one public tour.
